Arlee man riding horseback across Montana in memory of his Aunt
Posted: Jun 20, 2012 5:19 PM by Judy Slate
A 21 year old Arlee man has been horseback riding across Montana for about
three weeks. Leon Weider started "Spur the Cancer Out of Montana" after his
Aunt lost a nine year battle against cancer. "So last year I had the idea of
doing this and kind of saying in honor of her and kind of saying thanks for all
the help we received though her fight" said Weider.
Weider switches off between three horses and sticks mainly to I-90, although
he sometimes rides through town. He rides an average of eight hours a day.
Last year he raised $20,000 for the organization.
